Water for Elephants (MP3 Book)

Water for Elephants (MP3 Book) - Sara Gruen, John Randolph Jones, David LeDoux I love that the audiobook is read by two narrators, one young and one old.
I was engaged and fascinated by the first 2/3 of the story. I enjoyed the time and setting, Jacob's situation (running away to join the circus right before sitting his veterinary exams), the characters he met, all the interesting moments; I mean, who hasn't wondered at some point what it would be like to join the circus? But then I started to grow tired of Marlena, wondering why she was so fascinating to everyone. I wanted to hear more about Rosie and wondered why she was so faithful to these people she barely knew. I wanted more story and less romance/drama. I was happy when I didn't have to hear about chasing Marlena any longer. I would have given the story three stars had it ended there.

The ending is in no way spectacular, but to me, it was very satisfying for a number of reasons, most of them petty, and because the story came full circle and I find I often enjoy having stories end that way.
