The bad thing about listening to a book narrated by Jim Dale is that now all I can envision are Harry Potter characters. He uses some of the same Harry Potter voices for this particular book and I had to remind myself that, no, that is NOT Dobby speaking.Other than that, though, I liked this book well enough. Three potentially-orphaned siblings who keep getting kicked out of foster homes for being unconventional find themselves at the heart of a mystery concerning and emerald-colored book. There's time-travel, which is not a favorite theme of mine, dwarves, which is not a group of people I don't often come across in juvenile fiction (at least, not anymore), magicians and father-figures and general adventure.
I can't say it will be horribly memorable, but I would recommend it to young readers and I will read the next installment.
